Summer in the Trumansburg area is a time to play. Spend your day at Taughannock State Park swimming, fishing, or playing ball or Frisbee. Taughannock also has a playground for the younger visitors, a large picnic area, and a concession stand.
Sailing, jet skiing, motor boating, canoeing, and kayaking are other ways that visitors can enjoy Cayuga Lake.
If you are in the mood for a drive, you can head up the Cayuga Lake Scenic Highway to visit the wineries and some of the small towns such as Interlaken, Lodi, and Covert.
The Trumansburg area hosts two summer events for music lovers. The GrassRoots Music Festival, which was recently voted one of the “Top Ten Small Music Festivals” by USA Magazine, is held the next to last weekend in July, and showcases new and established musicians from all over the world. The “Concerts in the Park” series held Saturday nights in July and August at the Taughannock State Park pavilion also features a variety of danceable bands, along with Rotary chicken BBQ and wine tastings.
